Problem Note 35046: In SAS® 9.2 Phase 2, an "Invalid password" message appears when SAS® application servers contain a slash in the wrong direction in a user ID
In SAS 9.2 Phase 2, if you place the slash in a user ID for the SAS application servers in the wrong direction (for example, / instead of \), the following error message might appear:
Invalid password
This error message might also appear for other reasons.
Check the following items to make sure they are correct:
- The slash for the domain qualifier is in the wrong direction
- Unknown user ID/bad password
- Expired password
- Locked-out account
Note: The SAS® Deployment Wizard does not notify you if the user ID for an external account needs to be domain qualified on Windows. The SAS 9.2 configuration requires a domain-qualified account for the host logins on Windows. Domain-qualified accounts should be in this form:
domain\userID, machine\userID, or userID@domain
